October 8 to October 20, 2023 Release Notes

Features & Improvements

Canadian donation receipts now have more flexibility with displaying donation summaries.

Email variables now include custom fields: plop {!RECIPIENT_CUSTOM_FIELD_xxxxx!} into an email (replacing the x's with the custom field's ID) and Populi will plug it in where appropriate.

Added Recipient Email as a column to the Communications > Scheduled Events export.

Form fields (for all the different form types in Populi—short answer and paragraph type fields in applications, reference forms, inquiry forms, and regular forms) now have a minimum character count option.

Some updates for the ABHE report, primarily a race/citizenship breakdown in Enrollment Statistics and historic stats for first timers, completers, and incompleters. Also added a section featuring total Annual credit hours sold for Graduate and Undergraduate students.

Upgraded tag search results to show more than 10 results at a time.

Bugfixes

Fixed an issue with embedded payment forms so payers will no longer need to scroll within the iframe to fill out the form.

The Data Slicer's export transcripts action did a poor-to-nonexistent job when exporting transcripts that only contained transfer courses.

The Resident filter on the Data Slicer needed a "blank" option, so we fixed that for ya.

Entering a proctor check-out code on the Android app made it sputter and wheeze rather than check the proctor out of the test.

Preferred name variables in email templates were broken, so we fixed 'em.

Videos and Focus Sessions

Next week's séances de concentration (the French word for session is apparently séance... huh...):

  • Introduction to Admissions: Learn about application settings, designing your application, processing applications, managing leads and so on. This will be most useful to Admissions and Admissions Admin users. It's scheduled for October 24th, 2023, 11:00 AM Pacific time.
  • Introduction to Running Courses: A couple days later dig into course settings, lessons, assignments, discussions, tests, grading, and so on. This will be most useful to Academic Admin, Faculty, and Teaching Assistant users. It's scheduled for October 26th, 2023, 11:00 AM Pacific time.

After a veritable drought of videos these past several weeks, Josh returns with a two-fer on the admissions process: one showing it from the Staff perspective and one showing it from the student/lead perspective.
