January 2 to January 5, 2024 Release Notes

Features & Improvements

Account > Account Settings > SSO (IdP) now lets you generate new certificates for use in your web applications that look to Populi as an Identity Provider via SAML. This is a rather timely update because, as it happens, Populi's current SAML IdP certificates are set to expire on January 14! If your school uses Populi as an Identity Provider, you'll need to follow what's outlined in this article before those certificates go the way of the dodo. Oh, and we'll be nagging you to update your certificates for the coming week. (If you're not using Populi as IdP, you've nothing to worry about.)

The Funnel Report in Admissions now includes a column for Application Form when you export the Show Underlying Data CSV.

If an ISIR has a legitimate country code or state/province in the address, those are now included in the person's address after importing.

Student aid applications now let you edit the cent amounts (which previously you could only do on aid classification settings page).

Bugfixes

Populi is fine just the way it is (this week anyway... we'll see about next week, though).

Videos and Focus Sessions

Next week we got some Focus Sessions for ya:

  • Introduction to Degree Audit will introductify things such as programs, degree requirements, course groups, course mapping, exceptions, transcripts and so on. This will be most useful to Academic Admin and Registrar users. It's scheduled for January 9th, 2024, 11:00 AM Pacific time.
  • Introduction to Financial Aid will thoroughly acquaint you with financial aid settings, awards, packaging aid, disbursements, aid applications and so on. This will be most useful to Financial Aid and Financial Admin users. It's scheduled for January 11th, 2024, 11:00 AM Pacific time.

Josh takes a look back at 2023 (feel free to ignore the part about support hours during Christmas Break) and we get a look at a Josh-bot giving someone a noogie. How'd we fit all this in one video? Watch and find out.
