Populi makes it easy to manage student financial aid applications, packaging, eligibility for aid, and the disbursement of awards to student accounts. These video tutorials will orient you on the basics of setting up Financial Aid. We recommend that you watch each video and then give the functions discussed a try in your instance of Populi. Create Aid Application Components

Create aid application components so that aid applicants understand what they need to submit as part of their aid application.

Create a Liability Account & Set Up Award Types

Set up award types and associate them with a liability account so that you can disburse aid on student accounts.

Create Aid Classifications

Aid Classifications help you streamline the process of adding information to aid applications.

Create Aid Year Schedules

For U.S. schools, the Federal Aid Year runs from July 1 to June 30. We have hard-coded this into how Populi handles Financial Aid. So, for example, if a student applies for the 2011-2012 Aid Year, he's applying for Aid that he'd get between July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012. For Canadian schools, we can set up custom Aid Years if so desired.

Aid Year Schedules help you streamline the process of adding disbursement dates and amounts on student accounts.
