Step four: start adding resources

A resource is information about a particular item available in your Library. They cannot be checked out, reserved, transferred, etc. Copies are the actual, physical artifacts available somewhere on your shelves, whether available for loan, reserve, transit... or not at all. You can also keep digital resources for a Resource—say, MP3 files for a music Resource, or a PDF for an article Resource.

There are a few ways to get resources into your Library:

  • If you have extensive MaRC records from a previous library system, contact Populi customer support. We're happy to help you import your records into Populi.
  • You can also add resources one at a time, again in Catalog > Add Resources.

Read more about adding resources and copies.

Next step: set up some label templates...
