March 4 to March 8, 2024 Release Notes

Features & Improvements

You can now create QR codes for forms—regular forms, inquiry and application forms, and donation pages. The code export creates an .SVG file that you can then incorporate into printed materials. In a press conference to announce the new feature (which was so poorly-attended that we ended up having to eat all 19 of the lunch and vegetable trays ourselves), a Populi spokesman described the new feature as "nifty".

Updated Financial Aid to accommodate the recent changes that came from on high (that is, the DoED):

  • The new stuff can deal with ISIRs for the 2024-2025 aid year.
  • For Pell awards, when you add a Pell Grant to a student, Populi now auto-calculates the max/full-year amount and then uses the new enrollment intensity field on disbursements to calculate the net amount.
  • The new Enrollment Verification report verifies en masse awards for aid types that require enrollment verification. Unverified awards (that require enrollment verification) can't be included in disbursement batches until you sort out any verification issues, which the new report helps you do.

Term financial statements now include enrollments from superterms.

Bugfixes

No bugs needed fixin' this week.

Videos, Focus Sessions, and Whatnot

First up in the Whatnot category: Twilio, the company that makes the desktop authentication app Authy, has announced the "end of life" for the app on March 19, 2024. Have a look at this announcement for the next steps you can take if you're using that app for login approvals.

Next week's Focus Sessions...

  • Introduction to Admissions: Get the skinny on application settings, designing your application, processing applications, managing leads and so on. This will be most useful to Admissions and Admissions Admin users. It's scheduled for March 12th, 2024, 11:00 AM Pacific time.
  • Introduction to Running Courses: Get the low-down on course settings, lessons, assignments, discussions, tests, grading, and so on. This will be most useful to Academic Admin, Faculty, and Teaching Assistant users. It's scheduled for March 14th, 2024, 11:00 AM Pacific time.
