April 29 to May 3, 2024 Release Notes

Features & Improvements

In a rare move, the big thing this week is something we released last week. This note...

You can now look up CEEB codes for high schools for Admissions purposes. What are CEEB codes you ask? Well, if you have to ask, you wouldn't understand it even were I to explain it to you, which I'm not going to do because I want to arbitrarily exercise my agency in an effort to make a tiny dent in the universe we all inhabit.

...somehow failed to mention that the CEEB code thing was part of a more significant update to how you add transfer credits:

  • The spot where you add transfer credits is now Profile > Admissions > Other Education.
  • The user interface received some updates, though the general workflow ought to be recognizable: first you add a transfer institution, then you click its name to add degrees and courses from that institution.
  • You can now list degrees from the institution, which will be useful to schools needing to demonstrate the basis for admissions to a Graduate-level program.

As mentioned, the workflow is a little bit updated, but still recognizable compared to the old way. As for the omission of this update from last week's notes, the writer has been subjected to a battery of punishments that have hopefully taught him some valuable lessons.

ID Card layouts have been updated to use the new HTML Layout engine; lots of other small changes accompanied this update to accommodate the unique items found in ID Cards.

Bugfixes

Nothing worth mentioning. Maybe you check back next week?

Videos and Focus Sessions

Next week the sessions will focus upon:

  • Introduction to Billing: Have a look at pending charges, invoices, transactions, payments/credits, tuition schedules, fees and so on. This will be most useful to Financial Admin and Student Billing users. It's scheduled for May 7th, 2024, 11:00 AM Pacific time.
  • Introduction to Degree Audit: Take a gander at programs, degree requirements, course groups, course mapping, exceptions, transcripts and so on. This will be most useful to Academic Admin and Registrar users. It's scheduled for May 9th, 2024, 11:00 AM Pacific time.

Josh walks your students all the way through Populi.
