Features & Improvements
The Admissions Portal lets you give leads access to their applications, inquiries, financial aid, and forms without needing to give them a user account.
The Donors Portal lets you give donors access to their statements, receipts, and history, as well as letting them make new donations, all without needing to give them a user account.
Data Slicer exports now include the name of the saved report and the date of export in the filename. So if you export your "Faculty Favorite Sorbet Flavor" report on August 12, 2056, the filename (provided exports are still a thing 32 years from now) would be faculty_favorite_sortbet_flavor_20560812
(minus the misspelling of "sorbet"—that's just to see if you're paying attention).
Bugfixes
Populi is an immaculate jewel of error-free functionality this week.
Videos, Focus Sessions, and Whatnot
In the Whatnot category, a number of people with T-Mobile internet have been unable to access Populi since late June. This announcement describes what we know about the problem (TL;DR: T-Mobile broke something on their end) and offers some ways you can get around this issue.
Focus Sessions coming up!
- Introduction to Admissions: Learn about application settings, designing your application, processing applications, managing leads and so on (maybe the new Portal will be mentioned, too?). This will be most useful to Admissions and Admissions Admin users. It's scheduled for July 25th, 2024, 11:00 AM Pacific time.
- Introduction to Running Courses: The following week, you can get the skinny on course settings, lessons, assignments, discussions, tests, grading, and so on. This will be most useful to Academic Admin, Faculty, and Teaching Assistant users. It's scheduled for July 30th, 2024, 11:00 AM Pacific time.
