April 21 to April 25, 2025 Release Notes

Features & Improvements

We've added scheduled_aid as an expandable property to the Invoices object in the Populi API.

These exist in that liminal area between "feature/improvement" and "bugfix", but since technically nothing was broken, they go in this section:

Teaching Assistants used to receive the Faculty label in Contacts > People. Why? I dunno. Neither did anyone else.

If a deleted course evaluation was attached to a course, you couldn't add another eval to that course.

Retired delivery methods were showing in the drop-down for picking delivery methods on the Course > Settings page. They're now safely back in their RV's at a nice spot in Scottsdale.

The calculations that produce advising flags were taking old courses into account. Nothing like seeing a red flag on a student because he flunked a quiz three years ago.

Bugfixes

Email and mailing addresses were being required when adding new people. That was wrong! You only need a first and last name to add a new person to Populi.

The term selector in HTML enrollment agreement layouts was broken, which put enrollment agreements in a "no-worky" state. A fevered bit of typing code restored it to a "yes_worky" state.

The perfect cocktail of bad data could produce an error when importing EST files in Financial Aid > Awards > Import.

The Fullscreen test integrity control wasn't working at all for certain Mac users owing to an obscure little critter that was fumigated.

Videos and Focus Sessions

Focus Sessions doing what Focus Sessions do: introducing Populi stuff to you!

  • Introduction to Billing: Have a friendly sit-down with pending charges, invoices, transactions, payments/credits, tuition schedules, fees and so on. This will be most useful to Financial Admin and Student Billing users. It's scheduled for April 29th, 2025, 11:00 AM Pacific time.
  • Introduction to Degree Audit: Get some casual face-time with degree requirements, course groups, course mapping, exceptions, transcripts and so on. This will be most useful to Academic Admin and Registrar users. It's scheduled for May 1st, 2025, 11:00 AM Pacific time.

The end of the school year draweth nigh for many of our customers, and one thing you might be dealing with nowadays is incomplete students. Josh has foreseen this and here is the video.
