June 2 to June 6, 2025 Release Notes

Features & Improvements

After a few somnambulant weeks, we're pleased to tell you that a whole buncha stuff went out this week...

The big one is Notifications. This week's video also covers the topic.

You can now customize donation pages with your custom donations fields—it works much like the other form builders in Populi.

In the Aid Applications report, you can now bulk-set aid classifications.

In the Unapplied Payments report, you can now bulk-apply some of said unapplied payments (a maximum of 500 at a time).

The linked Degree field in applications now lets you choose which degrees to display to the applicant.

The export helper now lets you include the phone number and address type (Home, Work, etc.).

We've also added it to the Funnel Report's export for its underlying data.

New in built-in Localizations: Khmer!

Do you want to update staff and faculty IDs using the API? Well, now you can.

The WYSIWYG editor has an unsaved changes alert that flashes and screams if you try to navigate away without saving your changes.

The iOS and Android apps will now show test feedback to students.

Historic T2202 and T4A tax forms will now preserve the BN RZ number and school name—previously, if you changed either item in the present, it would change historic forms as well.

Emails sent by automations weren't getting added to the Activity Feed, which, apparently people want that! As people-pleasers with people to please, we added that.

Added a condition to Advisor-related automations that let you include whether the advisor is hidden.

Added embeds from app.helloaudio.fm to the whitelist.

Bugfixes

The Automatically generate pending charges as of setting and text didn't match what was in the documentation (which called it Start Generating Automatic Charges), and since the documentation was written by a professional writer and the setting text was pecked out by a caffeine-addled developer, the documentation writer appealed to his authority and asked the developers to change it. The developers got their revenge by waiting three years to update the text. But the documentation writer got the last laugh by filing this one under Bugfixes.

Localizations were inconsistent with translations for country names, so we figured out a way to handle that. I don't know what it was, but we did it.

The character count in profile bios was inaccurate.

If you invoiced a Campus Life fee, the description for the fee would disappear. We made it more resilient.

The email verification link in the Email Verification emails was busted.

The Billing > By Term > Charges export was pulling multiple anticipated completion dates for some students with only one degree.

The new notifications stuff broke aid batch notifications for financial admins, but some rejiggering fixed that.

Videos and Focus Sessions

Next week there'll be one Focus Session:

  • Introduction to Admissions: Hear about application settings, designing your application, processing applications, managing leads and so on. This will be most useful to Admissions and Admissions Admin users. It's scheduled for June 10th, 2025, 11:00 AM Pacific time.
  • Introduction to Vacationing: Jordan, the Focus Sessions mastermind, will take a couple weeks off. Topics will include keeping children occupied during the car ride, water sports, sightseeing, mitigating sunburns, and Seattle Mariners stats. This will be most useful to him and his family. It's scheduled for the middle of June, 2025. Looks like there's no signup link.
  • Introduction to Degree Audit: After his return, Jordan will talk you through degree requirements, course groups, course mapping, exceptions, transcripts and so on. This will be most useful to Academic Admin and Registrar users. It's scheduled for June 24th, 2025, 11:00 AM Pacific time.

Josh tells you that the little bell in the upper corner of the screen is... exactly what you think it is: Notifications!
