Features & Improvements

We actually released this last week... but it's not really released until it makes it into these august pages, is it? I'm talking about Library Self-checkout. Click that link to get the setup steps, and if you haven't already, start shopping for tablets and barcode scanners to set up your self-checkout kiosk.

Speaking of Library, we added patron contact info to the export of the Circulation > Active Loans report.

To-do notifications have been ensmartened and embettered. We've added a dynamic version of the notification that reads thusly: You have __ to-dos to complete. (If you have a lot of to-dos, your notifications dingy-bell can get quite crowded, so this ameliorates that.) To use that, go to your notification settings and find To-dos need to be completed under Personal. Also, now when you complete the to-do, the notification is automatically dismissed.

Automations for to-dos now have variables for TO_DO_ASSIGNED_BY_NAME and TO_DO_CONTENT.

The API now has a person's organizations available as an expandable property.

Added an Is/Is Not selector to the Course Faculty condition in the Enrollments report.

Gave variables to some admissions automation emails: application automations get one for application source, and lead automations get one for lead source.

Bugfixes

We broke the Record Payment dialog after last week's release and then promptly fixed it just to show you that we can.

A different, unrelated bug made it appear to a student that he'd selected one-time payment rather than the payment plan he'd actually chosen.

Applications > Fields had a Download Answer Files action that didn't actually download any answer files.

Something sputtered and choked on our end that prevented students from signing enrollment agreements.

We were exporting application files as .xls instead of .xlsx like a buncha goofy doofuses.

ODT print layouts couldn't be edited or saved for a brief window of time.

Videos and Focus Sessions

The school year is gonna really get going for a lot of our customers soon... good time to refresh your Populi knowledge with a Focus Session:

• Introduction to Academics: School years involve a lot of academic stuff, so here's one on academic years, terms, programs, degrees, the course catalog, course instances, enrollment and so on. This will be most useful to Registrar and Academic Admin users. It's scheduled for July 29th, 2025, 11:00 AM Pacific time.
• Introduction to Admissions: Never a bad time to learn about application settings, designing your application, processing applications, managing leads and so on. This will be most useful to Admissions and Admissions Admin users. It's scheduled for July 31st, 2025, 11:00 AM Pacific time.
