July 28 to August 1, 2025 Release Notes

Features & Improvements

ACH charges for PayFactory are all now set at a $5.00 flat fee. Very simple!

We now allow active users with an inactive Student role to request an official transcript. Much nicer than the fake and vague error we used to give them.

HTML Letter Templates can now use custom fields.

Added a lil' warning to Bookstore > Settings that snarls at you if you choose the same asset account for inventory purchases and inventory assets (that can later proverbially bite you in the proverbial butt).

When we released Notifications a few weeks back, the one about Integration Errors was checked for all PAA's. 95% of them hated it. So now it's turned off by default.

Bugfixes

We went and renamed a database column a few months back that it turns out was breaking some Common Cartridge imports. We really like the new column name so we fixed the importer.

Letter templates wouldn't let you select a Layout for a brief spell; during that brief spell you couldn't add a new letter template at all.

Videos and Focus Sessions and Whatnot

Do you like VPATs? Well, we updated ours and published it this week.

Enough about this week. You're here for what's happening next week with Focus Sessions:

  • Introduction to Running Courses: Get acquainted with course settings, lessons, assignments, discussions, tests, grading and so on. This will be most useful to Academic Admin, Faculty, and Teaching Assistant users. It's scheduled for August 5th, 2025, 11:00 AM Pacific time.
  • Introduction to Billing: Find out how to get the semolians flowing with this look at pending charges, invoices, transactions, payments/credits, tuition schedules, fees and so on. This will be most useful to Financial Admin and Student Billing users. It's scheduled for August 7th, 2025, 11:00 AM Pacific time.

As students begin swarming back into your hallways and classrooms and quads, they may need a brief intro (or refresher) with how to use Populi. Fortunately, Josh has them covered.
