August 17 to August 21, 2026 Release Notes

Features & Improvements

Course enrollment automations now include an email variable for the user role(s) of the person who made the enrollment change. This'll help you in the completely impossible event that a Library Patron starts withdrawing students or a Financial Aid user changes everyone's credits to 99999.99. And it might also come in handy for real situations that could happen, like an Academic Admin enrolling eight students in PSY326: Skydiving as Exposure Therapy after withdrawing them from JOK380: Rabbinical Standup Comedy Seminar.

Last week we added scrolling to the App Dropdown when you're on too small of a screen. Now search and notifications have scrolling, too (they felt left out and were getting sulky about it).

Bugfixes

The Common Cartridge exporter was messing up the URLs for embedded images, a brazen act of treasonous sabotage that we dealt with by fixing a few lines of code.

If you edited something in a dialog box, saving those edits reloaded the page in such a way that you'd have to hit the browser's back button twice to actually go back. This irritating annoyance was dispatched with extreme prejudice and some typing and clicking.

If you clicked to sort by Department in the Term Courses report, it would sort by course name instead. There were other sorting issues as well. Issues so grave and threatening to the whole idea of sorting a report that the nuclear option was justified: a tweak to some of the javascript (I think?) on that page.

File uploads were having trouble processing so we chose violence, pounding on the processing doohickey like it was an old TV set until your files displayed.

Videos and Focus Sessions

Late August Focus Sessions (LAFS, for short, though there's no need to provide an abbreviation since we're not gonna need to use that phrase again today...):

  • Introduction to Academics: Get to know how to do stuff with academic years, terms, programs, degrees, the course catalog, course instances, enrollment and so on. This will be most useful to Registrar and Academic Admin users. It's scheduled for August 25th, 2026, 11:00 AM Pacific time.
  • Introduction to Admissions: Learn about application settings, designing your application, processing applications, managing leads and so on. This will be most useful to Admissions and Admissions Admin users. It's scheduled for August 27th, 2026, 11:00 AM Pacific time.

Josh runs down a number of reasons to change your password and/or retrieve your username, then tells you how to do that.
