As a graduate-level school, we have 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments. Sometimes those apartments are occupied by individuals sharing an apartment and sometimes by a single family. Additionally, international students receive a special discounted rate. Our room plan rates are therefore determined by the student's situation and not the apartment.
Example 1) A 2-bedroom apartment might be shared by two individual students but if one is a US citizen they receive one rate while their international student roommate receives the discounted individual rate.
Example 2) A 1-bedroom apartment has one rate for an individual student and a different rate for a couple/family.
Thus we need to be able to associate multiple room plans with one apartment/room OR to charge a room plan based on student type (individual, family, international individual or international family).
