I'd like the option of setting the due date for an exam so that a student can write the exam late without me having to make a specific exception for them.
I have some assignments that I create as tests, but they aren't Tests in the formal sense of the word (they're really more like forms to be completed). I still want to be able to assign an end due date, but also allow for late submissions (just like normal assignments - files can be uploaded late).
If we had the option of setting (for lack of better terms) either a "hard due date" (i.e. student is locked out after due date unless I make an exception) or "soft due date" (i.e. student can still write the exam, but it is labelled as "late"), that would be helpful.
