Add 'Categorize' to Question Type List on Tests

With the current Matching Question Type, things work rather intuitively: you match the term/definition/etc on the left to its corresponding match from the right column.

However, I would like a similar yet importantly different option for a Question Type. All I can think of for a name currently is "Categorize."

Here's my scenario: I am creating a Midterm for my World Religions course. Because students have encountered a host of new & unfamiliar terms/concepts, I would like them to identify items on a list of those terms as belonging to Hinduism, Buddhism, etc etc.

For example, the left column might read:

- Mahdi

- Hajj

- Vedas

- Four-fold Path

- Karma

- "Three Ways"

...with many more items listed.

The corresponding right column, however, would only have four entries (one for each of the religions we have covered so far):

- Catholicism

- Islam

- Hinduism

- Buddhism

Students would then "place" each term with its respective religion.

Functionally, I'm not exactly sure of the best way to accomplish this. Drag-and-drop is the first method that comes to mind. Obviously, "columns" might not be the best approach, but it seemed the most familiar way to describe my scenario, at least.

Students could drag each term to a place under each religion, so that the names of the religions would serve as headings to "mini-lists" of terms...

Obviously, I don't have the technical mind to figure out how/if to accomplish this type of test question. I do know, however, that it could be quite useful to teachers/professors other than myself.

Thank you.
