Donation Page Features

There are a few features we would love to see added to the creation of Donation Pages. 

First, simply adding a custom field option. For example, we have sponsors who donate a scholarship for a specific student and letting them write that student name in would be key.

Second, in using a donation page for fundraiser ticket sales, it would be nice to set a price and have a quantity selection. For example, selecting the number of tickets they would like to purchase (that way we could easily split the tax-deductible and non-tax deductible donations into two separate funds). Right now, we have to list out the prices for different numbers of tickets and have them select the corresponding amount.

Just some ideas!

  @Katie - Sounds like you are interested in having the ability for a donor to make an earmarked (non-deductible) donation for the benefit of a specific student. Is that correct?

  Adam, that is one of the ways we could use it yes. We are also looking for a way to split a set amount instead of a percentage into an account designated for non-deductible amounts. For example, our fundraiser tickets are $55 and they may purchase 1 or multiple tickets. $45 of each of these tickets are non tax-deductible as they are receiving a good (the price of the meal) for that amount. Clear as mud right! haha

  I'm very interested in this feature request as well. Your own tutorial for donations mentions using the module for a golf tournament, but I can't see how this is possible without the above features. The only way I can imagine it is to set up a separate fund that isn't tax deductible for one portion of the ticket price, and then instruct people how much money to "donate" for their golf ticket. But since the donation can only be split on a fixed dollar amount, they wouldn't be able to purchase more than one ticket in a single transaction. Not very practical. Is there another solution in the present feature set?

  And with respect to the first comment, there are other important applications for this feature. For example, it would be very useful to have a drop-down list of named funds within a specific larger fund, rather than setting up a hundred different funds at the top level. The ability to make custom fields is already there. It would be good to make them available on the donation page.
