Establishing standing at a certain point in the year

Our institutional policy is that a student's standing is determined at the beginning of the fall semester, and that it will remain at that level throughout that school year. I would like to request the ability to override Populi's automatic calculation of standing and application of system tags. The current system gives our students a confusing and misleading perception of their actual standing.
