Emailling from Populi

Please consider adding student's last name when using the populi "email" feature.  Those emails come into my outlook but currently without a last name.   it requires I research who the student is in order to put context to it.  When the first name is "David" for example, it is impossible to find which David the email was addressed.  The following is what I receive in Outlook when emailed from Populi.  No student info except "Dear David".  David who????  If it is being sent from his student email, please use both first and last names in the "from" or somewhere on the email.

  @Carolyn - Whether or not someone includes a student's last name in an email they send from Populi, whether they compose it themselves or use an email template, is entirely up to them and not something Populi can change for you. I took a look, and it appears that email is being sent by using an email template which has a blank where the sender is filling in the student's first name. If you want the email to say "Dear First Last" instead, I'd recommend adding the appropriate name variables to the email template.

  Yes! My colleagues sometimes blind copy me on emails to prospective students (sent from within Populi), and I have no way of knowing who the email was sent to. I'm not likely to search all the hundreds of Davids (or Johns, or Steves, or Marys) in our system to find out which one received this email. A last name somewhere would be very helpful.

  @Adam - When my colleagues send an email through Populi (not a pre-existing template, just a freehand email), and cc: me, it looks like this in my inbox:

  from:		Janeen Johnson <jbjohnson@ambs.edu> via populi.co
  to:		kmhartman@ambs.edu
  cc:		Krysta Hartman <kmhartman@ambs.edu>

  When I receive an email like that it feels virtually useless, because I can't see who the email went to. Maybe, instead of listing a last name (which I understand is not possible), could the student's email address be listed in the "to" field? In the example above, the email wasn't sent "to" me. I was "cc"ed, but the message was sent "to" the student. Seems like their address should show up there, as it would if such an email was sent through Gmail.

  I'm having the same issue. I try to include the full name of the student in the body of email, although sometimes I forget. Also, it feels a bit too formal in some situations to start an email with "Hi John Doe" instead of "Hi John"...When I cc sometime on such emails, they are unable to see the recipient of the email unless I type the name of the recipient in the body of the email (or subject line). It's normal practice with any email service to show cc'd individuals who the primary recipient of the email is - can this feature be added to Populi?

  Populi now preserves the names and emails of the "to" field.
