Set Course Meeting times to NOT repeat. Specify specific dates for meeting

there is a field that says "repeats ___ weeks" when adding meeting times to a specfic course. However, you can't set it to only repeat once.

We have classes that meet in 1 week intensives, but the course still spans the entire term, with requirements outside of the actual in-person course meeting times.

It would be nice to specify at the MEETING TIME level:

1. which date it actually met (not just day of hte week)
2. what time it met

Then, this would also prevent it from looking like the course overlapped another course, thus preventing studnets from registering for both classes.

ie: 

Two classes are offered in our Winter term, from January 4 - Jan 31.

Class A meets in person from Jan 4-9
Class B meetings in person from Jan 10-14
Students can take both classes, because the in person dates do not overlap. However, both courses have the entire term (until Jan 31) to complete the coursework. 

I want the term start/dates in Populi to reflect the entire term dates (Jan 4 - Jan 31), but the meeting times & the schedule to reflect the individual meeting times for the individual courses.

  Cyndi Myers - The meeting times setting on a course is meant to reflect the typical schedule of a typical course that runs throughout the term, e.g. this course meets every Tuesday during the term (aside from school holidays etc) at 9-11am. One-off meetings should be added as individual events to the calendar instead of as a recurring meeting time. The obvious caveat here is how this will be treated scheduling-wise on registration which would require some explanation.

  I don't know if this would work in your particular case, but you could maybe set your course start and end dates to the in-person meeting date range, but set the access dates to match the term. Then you could use meeting times, but they would only repeat inside the start/end range.

  Hi Adam, 

  Thanks for the response, but no, your solution doesn't satisfy my issue. 

  We want the dates on the individual courses to match that actual course dates at all times, elsewise when it comes to various reports we have to do, or various audits we go through, these dates have to be manually re-adjusted in the reporting of the details. 

  Right now we manage how you've explained - with setting the start/end dates at the course to be inclusive of only the dates the class meets in-person. 

  My feature request is to reflect that there are meeting times - that still occur with regularity/consistency in a term, but don't meet the mold of what the Populi settings expect. 

  I'm sure there are other schools who offer 1) intensive courses in short winter terms or summer terms or 2) hybrd courses that only meet for a couple of random weekends, etc. It would be nice to have the option to set the meeting times (which show up on the live schedule) to the specific dates. The current functionalty now works just fine for your traditional semester course, but doesn't allow for courses that are offered in a different model.

  I agree. This would be a great feature. We have courses that meet throughout the semester on specific weekends. It would be great to be able to reflect that in the "add meeting time" section. Right now, it is easy enough to show that a course is an intensive (through the delivery method) but it would be great to get more specific with the meeting times.

  Yes this would be a great option. Some our science labs alternate weeks when they meet but I am unable to set up the lab times accurately which causes confusion and course conflicts during registration. We also offer week long modules. Being able to turn off the 'repeat' and use specific dates would be very helpful.

  Thank you for considering this as an option for class meetings settings. In our institution we have several courses which meet on specific dates, not on a regular schedule.  Students sometimes find it confusing when they see "every week", when in fact, it may be only 7 times a semester.   Was this ever resolved?? We have a class that only meets 4 times per semester and they are not even numbers of weeks apart. We we need to put in specific dates also.

  Added my upvote.  Intensives are the issue.
