I was disappointed to discover that the attendance tab is now hidden as soon as a course is finalized. As an academic admin, I regularly glanced through the attendance calendar for each course after finalization to make sure faculty had remembered to complete their attendance records. In the calendar view I could tell at a glance whether it was complete since scheduled meetings where attendance was not taken appeared in a different color. If faculty had forgotten, I could quickly reopen the course for them and send them a reminder to complete it. Now that the calendar view is no longer available, checking on this requires multiple extra steps including going through an individual student's attendance record and matching the dates attendance was taken with scheduled class meetings to see if any are missing.
