Letter and Email Template Variables

I am currently building the Populi SIS and find the Email and Letter Template Variables quite limiting compared to our current SIS. I would like to request that the list of variables available to be used in templates be increased to include: all student fields (both standard fields and custom fields). This would allow us to send personalized emails and letters to students without exporting the data and using a mail merge function in Word.
