Now that Populi has a robust system for tracking the delivery method of courses and how students actually attend, It would be great to be able to make use of these data at the level of transcript and degree requirements. For example, we limit the number of online courses that a student can count towards one of our degrees because of its vocational nature. These limits are very hard to track and enforce. So:
- The transcript and/or degree audit view could mark each course with its delivery method for that particular student.
- The degree requirements setup could include an option to limit the number of online courses a student can count (e.g., 25% or xx credits).
- The student tab could indicate how many of the earned credits were earned in the online format (just as it shows residential credits now).
- In the Registration module a student could be warned when he is about to exceed that limit.
Such new features would be enormously helpful as we deal with more and more online teaching.
