The support site isn't actually something we built (http://www.zendesk.com/) so we don't actually have control over that.
As far as Populi goes this isn't something that we're considering adding right now, but we are in the process of a major navigation overhaul that I think does a better job of letting you know where you are in the system and conveying hierarchy in general. The latest update to the Profile and the new Communications section should give you an idea of where we're heading.
