It would be great to have a button to select apply all unapplied payments at once or have the option to select individually.

Brendan O'Donnell Because of the variety of unapplied payments (some might come from Financial Aid, others might just be regular payments, etc.) and their uses (some have to be refunded, some applied to fees, others to tuition), it's somewhat unlikely that we'd add a button to Apply all Unapplied Payments. However, it would probably be useful to gather together a list of all unapplied payments to help Financial Admins act on them; we'd like to add something like this for a future release.

Robin Lewis Brendan, thanks for your reply. From the Financial Admin a list of unapplied payments would be great, but I want to clarify my thought on "the Button" to apply all unapplied payments would be student specific and would be one of two options for posting payments, the current way and if there are multiple payments "the button" way. Example, student has a payment of $400 by check, another $200 by card, currently I would have to apply each of these payment separately, but if I had the options of "The Button" to apply all unapplied payments it would save time. Hope this helps to explain my feature requests.

Brendan O'Donnell Robin,
Thanks for the clarification. That might actually be something we'll consider. Let's see how our other users weigh in and we'll see what our developers think.
thanks!

Isaac Grauke Hi Robin, just continuing to think this through. The main hurdle I see in adding a shortcut to apply all unapplied payments at once is that it doesn't give you an opportunity to select which invoices the payments apply to. In the case of an Apply All shortcut, would it be better for Populi to just apply payments to invoices automatically based on oldest to newest? Or would you need some sort of interface to direct certain payments to certain invoices? If the latter, it may end up taking just as long as it does to apply them individually. Thanks for chewing on this with us!

Dawn Dirksen It would also be helpful to have an option come up when you invoice a student to have an unapplied payment applied to that invoice. We often have families pre-pay tuition and then I have to be sure to go find everyone who has unapplied payments once the semester is invoiced....a list of all unapplied payments would be good!!

Brendan O'Donnell Dawn,
We have some updates coming up for Unapplied Payments, particularly a list of unapplied payments as you mentioned here earlier.
thanks!

Robin Lewis Dawn I agree with you...That was my reasoning for the apply all payments was because the major of our students pre-pay part or all of their tuition, but when invoice they are separate records. I sent a reply to Issac post but I do not see it here.

Robin Lewis Brendan... I look forward to the updates.

Carlos Marin So... can one pull up a list or filter on "unapplied payments" as of today? If so, where can we do it from?
Thanks!

Robin Lewis Hi Brendan and Issac... I was wonder where this end update on the unapplied payment tab on the student financial. ... Love it under the financials but still would love a tab like previously discussed...especially along the lines of what dawn said... "It would also be helpful to have an option come up when you invoice a student to have an unapplied payment applied to that invoice."
