NUMBER OF STUDENTS WAITING/READY FOR TAKING A COURSE IN THE COURSE CATALOG

IN OUR COLLEGE, STUDENTS ARE ENROLLED IN THEIR COURSES BY THE REGISTRAR... THEY DO NOT ENROLL THEMSELVES.

To facilitate scheduling and maximize the number of students per on-site classes, I would love to be able to choose the courses to schedule by using the course catalog that could have an additional column showing the number of students that are ready for taking the course. I would love as well to be able to click on this number and have my list of students for this course. It would be wonderful to select all the students at once and create a session for the course... that would be such a time saver for the person in charge of scheduling.

THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS SHOULD REFLECT ONLY THE ONES WHO ARE READY TO TAKE THE COURSE ACCORDING TO THE PEREQUISITES OF THE COURSE AND NOT ALL THE ONES THAT HAVE TO TAKE THE COURSE ACCORDING TO THEIR CURRICULUM.

  This is an interesting idea. Currently at our College our Registrar register's all students after they've met with their Advisor. However, we have a very specialized curriculum,and most of our students are required to take the same courses over a 4 year period. I know that Populi can back-fill pre-requisites via the Degree Audit function, so if there were a way to connect that to the course schedule/and or course catalog..we may have the capability of registering the students in a "batch" over the summer if they are new, or in a "batch" during the academic year if they're current students. Is this something that could be built into the system if we would like to? Thanks!
