I'd like to be able to add custom calendars and invite groups of people by tags. For example to create an Administration calendar with internal deadlines that only admins can see. To have these linked/synced with google apps calendars would be even better!!

Isaac Grauke Great idea Clint. For orgs using the Google Apps integration with Populi, you can set up multiple calendars and share them with whoever you like via Google Groups. Someday we'd like to link Google Groups with Populi User Roles so you can quickly give access to all people in the Faculty Role, for example. But for now, you can manually add people to the group who should have access to the calendar.

Seth Allen I agree with Clint. I'd like to add a separate library calendar so that faculty/staff can see what A/V items are checked out.

Kat Damiano AGREED! We need separate calendars for our various locations - LA, NY, AZ, Retreats etc. The current work-around of setting up a calender through a fictitional user is laborious and means we have to have an email associated with each calendar. This is not ideal.
It would be ideal to have these calendars sync with Outlook for admins.

Mark Gray If you are looking for a way to add calendars that are only available to staff/faculty; a potential solution is to create a Building Resource for Building, because building resources automatically generate their own calendar.
Example: add a Library Building Resource to your Library (assuming you have a building set-up called Library) and call the Type "Calendar". You can now add the Library Building Resource Calendar to your list of calendars, and manage the appointments for this separate calendar.

Mark Leonard Did this feature ever get added? I would like to create a communications calendar in Populi to map out when we are sending newsletters, etc. Is that possible?

Kim Huizinga I would love to have the ability to send invitations to events on the school calendar to specific roles, instead of having to enter each person manually. Could an option be added to the "Attendees" to batch invite people with a specific role in Populi?
