Currently I can only clone from a course that has already run and I can't clone assignments, etc. from one new course to another new course within the same semester.

You can do that, actually--the feature is called "syncing". Look it up in the Faculty tutorials. http://support.populiweb.com/forums/46050-faculty-courses

Clint Nelson I discussed this with Isaac or Mark and he said I can't. I've watched the tutorial videos and the sync option or cloning button do not appear. Isaac said this was because the course was new and had never been offered before.

You can sync multiple sections of the same course which will share assignments, reading lists, etc. but you cannot sync two different courses (has to be the same course number). Cloning copies a course from a previous term into a new term with all the assignments, reading lists, etc. Because you are dealing with all new course numbers this term, there are no historic courses to clone forward.
Are you saying you want to be able to clone the assignments from one course (say ENG101) to a completely different course (ENG301 for example)? If so that is something new that we have not built in and we could definitely consider it. Thanks!

Clint Nelson Sorry for the lack of clear communication. You are correct that I want to clone assignments between two different courses. Both courses are new and ones that we have never offered before.

Traci Morris I had a faculty member ask me yesterday if this was a possibility, so we have interest in this as well.

Deborah Forteza I'd also like to clone courses with different numbers within a same term. Some of our students are taking a course for half-credit, so it's labeled as an independent study with a different number.

Permanently deleted user Wonderful! How? I just tried repeatedly to clone a finalized course from last semester to a new class this semester and nothing happens. The classes have different names, but the "source" class does appear as an option when I am completing the cloning dialog box. I check "ALL", select the course, acknowledge that it will replace the contents of the new course (there are none), and hit "SAVE". Voila! Nothing happens....? help?

John Beckman Please allow me to sync different courses (i.e., with different course numbers).
The reason for this is that I have cross-listed courses, so I have undergraduates and graduate students in the same classroom at the same time doing the exact same things and being graded the exact same way, but in Populi they are in different course numbers. So I need two courses in Populi with different course numbers and different students, but everything else exactly the same and kept in sync so that it stays the same.
