"Add Event" in Calendar to have more of a Google Calendar or Outlook design

Google and Outlooks event adding interface is much quicker and easier.  When you click on the start day it drops down with a mini 'month-at-a-glance' view.  When you click on a time it drops down with 30 minute increments.  Adding an attachment to an event would be a bonus (i.e. the event's flyer in pdf).
