Currently there is no way to differentiate between people who apply and who are prospective students wanting more information. Obviously both need different communication plans.

Isaac Grauke Amen Clint. The application form was always meant to be just an application form. We don't have an online inquiry form that just adds people as prospects who want more info. That is definitely a feature we want to build in. I don't have a timeline yet so I won't mark this as Planned, but stay tuned.

Shane Flynn Does the current API allow for data insertion? I would be interested in this feature as well and if the API can handle it, I might be interested in writing something to share.

Dennis Hixson We are just started our 2011-2012 recruiting season with our first event the Canadian College fairs happening the in October. We are currently having to enter prospects by hand from our website inquiries.
This is the information we currently have for our online requests which are actually prospects.

Thanks

Isaac Grauke Shane,
We're going to try to get the API built out so that someone could pass along data into Populi from an inquiry form. If you are up for working with the API on it that would be awesome. Ill let you know when we have something for you to look at.

Shane Flynn Sounds good. -
Sherry Mahon I also would like to have an online "Request for Info" type form for people who are inquiring which has the contact info exactly like the application form you currently offer but also includes the info below and that we can differentiate in the "Edit Prospect Information" section as an "Inquiry" level or an "Applied" level.
1) what best describes you:
- I am a high school student researching schools
- I am looking to transfer to EBC
- I am a parent researching schools for a student
- I am a visitor interested in learning more about EBC
2) and ask how they heard about our college
Any chance that this can happen soon as manually entering all of our inquiries really takes away from the automation of Populi.
Thanks

Ian Tompkins I'm with Sherry, it would be really nice to offer different communication plans for students vs. parents, and I might even add high school counselors to that list.
Currently, we have students fill out prospect cards by hand and they are manually added as prospects by an admissions rep. Having the student fill out the form digitally the first time would be great!

Amy Kozlek It would be GREAT if this form would also include a date, as the Application has. That way we can track prospects by Interest Dates as well.
LOVE THIS IDEA!!

John Coumerilh A very desirable feature indeed. Manual entry of prospects is maddening. We need "an app for that." :-)

Sherry Mahon Has there been any further work done to make this online request for info form happen? It could be some of the same fields that you already have for the beginning of the application process with a few new fields. One field would be an automatic one to differentiate a request for info from starting the application. We would still need to import it to avoid duplications but it would save a ton of manual inputting.
What can I do to help make this happen? I am sure large schools would especially be interested in this feature.
Thanks
Sherry
