We would like the ability to have courses that don't appear on transcripts. For example, we would like to offer our Writing Lab as a "course" that we can register students for and it can appear on their calendar. Then they can have access to assignments, documents, and book lists via the course page. However, it will be non-credit, non-graded, and we don't want it to show up on their transcript.
Basically, we just need a check box on the course info page that says "Show this course on transcripts". The default would be "Yes". You could even restrict this option to courses that had zero credit hours, to prevent accidentally setting this to "No" and causing confusion down the road.
