It would be great to be able to enter a (-) for an item in the POS of a bookstore and post that credit including the taxes to a students account without all the manual GL entries to return a book listed in the help forum.

Yes, a way to return an individual book instead of voiding the whole order would also be extremely helpful.
It would be helpful to be able to issue a credit for a returned book rather than voiding and re-entering the entire order or having to do a journal entry. Neither is efficient to invoice a student correctly.
We REALLY need the ability to issue a credit for books through the bookstore. We have had several orders that include books that are out of print. It is very inconvenient to have to void and re-enter the order to make the adjustment.
We have an inordinate amount of changes to book orders for various reason. We really need to be able to issue credits for changes to book orders rather than voiding the order and re-entering. It has become a huge issue!
The POS functions of Populi truly need to be expanded upon. Returns/refunds should be able to be processed in any point-of-sale worth operating. The ability to give discounts without having to edit the entire price structure of an item, and on whole orders would also be beneficial. The man hours involved in having to circumnavigate the lack of these functions is almost laughable, in a not so funny way.
We want to add a staff discount at the bookstore, but are unable under the current structure of Populi. Each time an item with a specific discount is purchased, the item must be repriced by management, process the order then change the item price back. I agree with the comments above regarding returns as well.
Returns and discounts are the functions that any retail POS system uses most, after sales. That Populi doesn't have these capabilities is an enormous problem. I've had to create a giant work-around form with over 20 steps just to credit something back to a student's account; it takes a lot of truly unnecessary time and effort.
I agree! Having to void and reprocess orders is unnecessarily time consuming. A return option for individual items would make a world of difference!
