Greetings,
Would it be possible to keep track of where students are placed once they graduate from an institution? It would be nice to record if a student is a pastor of a church, in a doctoral program somewhere, in the mission field, etc. Our accrediting agency would like this information, so it would be nice if this were kept in Populi.

You can attach any person in Populi to an organization and give them a title. There's a link to add this info right under their name on their profile.
Another option here is a Custom Information Field. You might prefer that option since its easier to access the data in the Data Slicer for reports.
Adam and Isaac, I see what you are saying. However, job placement and "gainful employment" is becoming such a hot-button issue in higher ed that we are all going to need simply amazing alumni data, placement, and job tracking. I won't mention which, but one of our oversight bodies asked for hourly salary information for our graduates this past fall. Seriously? At any rate, this is a growing concern.

Yeah, we are keeping an eye on how this sort of data is going to be burdening schools of the size Populi is meant to serve. Interesting that Visible is subject to this kind of focused data reporting. For now, I would just say to do your best with Organizations and custom info fields... but we're definitely interested to see how significant a pain point this becomes and whether Populi would be the best way to ease that pain. We too are interested in how to find, store and report on the gainful employment of our students and our accrediting body is now requiring reporting on that subject yearly. It would be nice if we could have a way to automatically transform our student profiles into graduated profiles so we wouldn't have to import/export/reenter anyone in order to keep this information. If it would automatically add fields for us to record their employment information, that would be beautiful. All schools, big and small. who get financial aid money are being required to show this information and I'd love not to have to develop a whole new system for that.
