Since a distance Ed student can register anytime in the semester online, it would really help in managing the courses if when they registered for a DE course it triggered an email to the DE department. Most of the course then are assembled and shipped out.

We are currently getting ready to give students the ability to register for Distance Education courses online.
But, we wonder how this will work if there is no notification system to let us know when a student has registered.
The only way now would be to have someone go through every single DE course every single day and see if there are any new students on the roster.
We'd like a modified version of this, where it would AT LEAST show up on the faculty member's "advisee" list or send a notification when one of their advisees registers. We don't currently use the online registration feature, but we'd love to explore it if there were a few more "triggers" that notified someone when a student registers.
I like this too. The ability to select whether the advisor and/or the registrar would get notified would also help.
Oh, and for all courses... not just distance education...
