It would be great to have the option to send out an email notification when a new news item is posted. It would be great to choose who would get the email.
I just sent out an important new item and would like to get it out 2 ways just like Facebook.

It would be great to give users the option to subscribe to new posts added to The Feed or maybe a "Daily Digest" option or opt to receive an e-mail notification on a specific day of the week. Things like that.
2023 and *still* would like to see the ability for students to get dashboard notices pushed to their email in the same way they can opt for that for discussion posts.
Yes, yes, & yes to all these suggestions! Users who don't log in to Populi daily are potentially missing out on important news. It seems odd that they can opt to be notified of class announcements, but not general news items.
We would greatly appreciate notification ability with the Feed. We have students and faculty that miss announcements in the feed and have repeatedly asked for the ability to receive notifications whenever a new post is made. At the moment, we have to send out emails and post on the feed. We would like to eliminate the need for a two-step process.
An essential part of communication is the ability to push announcements to the recipients' preferred means of receiving notices. Populi gives us options to push targeted communications or notifications within classes to text, email, or the Populi app--but not for general announcements. If something is important enough to post for the whole organization, we ought to be able to have a way to let people know it's there, rather than requiring us to be redundant by sending an email, too. Could you please add a feature for users to receive notifications of news feed posts? Thanks!
