Forgiving fines in Library

Is there an option to forgive fines in Library? If not, can Populi create a way (for example, if a book is returned on time, but not checked in)?

You can now waive library fines on a per-loan basis.

Is it possible to waive library fees in part, but not in whole? It would be beneficial if a student had taken out a book but brought it back late, and the book didn't get signed in for several more days. The extra days would be the fault of the librarian/library worker, not the patron.
