Our school would like to see Populi partner with a scanning program for plagiarism. This will be a great tool for any professor and school. Turn it in , is one of those programs.

Adam Sentz Official comment We just added an integration with Unicheck! Read about it on the blog.
-
Christopher Engelsma Agreed. I am just working on a case of this now using google. A Plagiarism Checker would greatly facilitate this.
-
Clarence Burke This would benefit my institution as well.
-
Christopher Dickerson We use TurnItIn. I've asked Populi to look into making an integration, but nothing has happened yet. PLEASE pursue this issue!!!
-
Rodney Phillips A fusion with this program would keep Populi at the top of the game, making it less cumbersome to use turnitin, com for faculty and students. Please!
-
Joel Wingo We agree, would like to see a plagiarism-check feature like this. Here are some of the other options that are out there in addition to Turnitin:
-
Andy Deane This would be amazing. Please add this feature. -
Vanessa Acosta This feature would help aid us in making sure our students are doing their own work. Great idea!
-
Daniel Westwood SafeAssignment is another good one that one of my professor uses on his Blackboard/Coursesites page. I think he is still trying to figure out the transition to Populi.
-
Krista Wagner With all posts being online, it only makes sense to have a built-in feature that detects plagiarism. This component would allow for a streamlined experience for both student and instructor as they would both be able to view the report.
-
Emily Minnema This would be so helpful for us as well!
-
David Mize Much-needed feature
-
Jonathon Beeke Glad to see this is planned!
-
Cheryl McLim Any idea of a timeline for when this might happen? Looking forward to this feature!
-
Daniel Humphreys unplag.com is another good solution. We use it because you can scan against the internet and your internal assignments and library/textbooks.
-
Douglas Lewis Good idea. Would help convert one professor who's reluctant to use Populi because it doesn't have this feature.
-
Dr. Lindsay McVety Agree, we would also like to see a plagiarism tool added to Populi. That would be great!
For now, we are submitted things manually through a plagiarism checker online.
-
Dr. Joe Miller Yes please.
-
James I. Fazio It would be great to have this built in to populi.
-
Evan Donovan Agreed. This is greatly needed.
-
Dr. Cory Marsh I agree. A plagiarism check should be included in Populi.
-
Phil Supple I agree. A plagiarism check should be included in Populi.
-
Tom Johnson This really is a MUCH needed feature (as suggested by the number of comments). The ability to direct our students through Populi to a program like Safe Assign would both promote academic integrity and encourage originality.
-
Mark Cancel This feature is much needed and helps to maintain academic integrity. Safe Assignment, TurnItIn and Unplag are all good choices. This is something we need sooner than later. I would put it at the top of the list.

Douglas Lewis Adam, Unicheck offers three pricing plans. Does this work with all three (including the free one)?
Thanks.
-
Adam Sentz @Douglas - I don't think I can give you a definitive answer on that. Please reach out to Unicheck and let them know you are a Populi customer so they can set up with the right plan and best pricing.

Bethany Herrod Adam Sentz Is it possible to integrate Grammarly as a plagiarism checker?
-
Adam Sentz Bethany Herrod - From what I can gather they don't support third party API integrations. I don't know if you've had a chance to try Unicheck, but I've been pretty impressed with it.
-
Evan Donovan Unicheck works well for our school.
-
Bethany Herrod Adam Sentz Thank you for telling me! I have checked with them, and Grammarly indeed does not support third-party API integrations. The browser extension can do some things (check discussion posts and any writing that is done within Populi), but it doesn't seem to read uploaded documents. Just so everyone has more information about it!
