I need to be able to print spine labels and barcodes. I have too much cataloging to do and too few hours, to do it all twice. Cutting and pasting is not effecient and allows for too much error (although it is better than doing it by hand). One solution would be the ability to export the Library, Location, Call Number, Barcode, Barcode number, etc. for a copy or copies (it would be good to be able to do batches of any size) to a spread sheet that could then be arranged/edited to fit my labels. This would allow users to design their own labels, and would use functionality that is already in populi -- like exporting booklists, etc. Another option would be to be able to exoprt a MARC record that could be used with other software, or the ability for users to import Marc records so that copy cataloging could be used more effectively with Populi.

Damien Kurek We have been using a free barcode service off the net to do our barcoding. It would be great though if there was a label exporter for both labels and standard barcodes.

Anna Jones I agree it would be a very helpful feature to add. I also need to be able to print out library cards and labels with the call numbers. I look forward to Populi adding this feature, hopefully in the near future.

Seth Allen I agree with both ideas-exportable MARC records and barcoding software. Copying and pasting is not an efficient system and printing labels required us download new software.

Andrea LaBenne That would be a great feature to add!

Adam Sentz You can now create library labels in Library > Settings > Label Templates.
