It would be great to have a box underneath the essay questions on tests in Populi so that you could provide feedback to the student while you're grading to let them know why you're taking points off, or even to tell them you're pleased with their answer.

Shane Flynn Something similar was mentioned previously (http://support.populiweb.com/entries/20014511-add-comment-field-to-essay-questions) and I think it would be very helpful for anyone looking at using Populi for online learning.
