Being able to merge resources would be helpful. Due to the nature of our collection, many books got cataloged at their various libraries without the catalogers realizing that they were duplicates of things we already had. In order to "merge" these records, I have to find the various duplicates of a resource; record the call numbers, barcodes, and locations; delete the duplicates; and add copies to the original resource. It would be wonderful if there was a way to quickly locate duplicate resources and to then merge them. This would allow patron to see all of the available copies of a resource from the various locations.

Jody Jacobs In the process of merging, the individual copy data would need to be preserved (obviously) but it would also be good to save any unique subject headings, formats, ISBN, etc.

RESPECT GRADUATE SCHOOL I have been working on creating a library. We catalogue hundreds of books everyday. We come across with duplicate items. But searching every time to see if we have an extra copy takes too much time. Usually we see the duplicates when we shelf them and change the call number, an extra work.
Apart from this suggested feature, I suggest Populi should search for duplicates every time we add a resource, and warn the user if there is.

Bacon, Haley I wanted to bring this to the front again. Being able to merge resources in the library would be so helpful. Our import of our excel sheet wasn't super compatible with the library and cleaning it up has been a nightmare.

Adam Sentz Bacon, Haley - We have a tool that can merge resources with common ISBNs. If that would help please reach out to support with a request here https://support.populiweb.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
