Opt out or Opt in Email Notifications

We would like to see an Opt out or Opt in Email Notifications feature within the course-specific dashboard/bulletin board?  Not all students want email alerts sent to their email accounts for every entry made by students.

  This is implemented on discussions, but not the course bulletin board.

  @Kenneth - We added the ability to control your email subscription on a per-discussion basis a couple years ago, but there is no setting for the course bulletin board.

  @Nathalia - We haven't marked this one Planned or Not Planned. It hasn't gotten much attention since it was originally posted so it's not something we're actively talking about.

  Hello Adam,

  We are facing the new regulation from GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). One part of the regulation that is required that our leads have the option to op-out future emails that come from us. 

  I been reading this post and wondered if this has changed or if some you can help us to get this feature that we can add to our email template.

  I have to report this to the owners and leadership as this is going be enforced May 25, 2018, which is two days away.  The big issue is there is a big heavy fine is we don't comply with this new regulation.

  @David - Bulk email sent from Populi already includes unsubscribe links in the footer to comply with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003.

  @Adam - Thank you for your fast reply. I just ran an email test and did not see this footer message.  Do I need to set-up something within account settings?

  @David - It's going to depend on how you sent the message. Most of CAN-SPAM only applies to commercial messages (as defined by CAN-SPAM). If you have any further questions please let us know in a support request as this conversation isn't really relevant to this feature request. Thanks!
