In Canada when we certify aid with the government we request what is owed to the college and it is directly deposited into our account. Any balance of the award is direct deposited into the student bank account. It would be great if I could make a disbursement from the total award that went to student. This would not have to affect accounting. I would just show under the award what was dispersed through the college and what went directly to the student directly of the total award. Currently the awards say "underpayment" when in fact all the funds were dispersed some to college and some to student directly.
This is the way it is done in Canada. It saves me the time to process refunds and issue checks.
