We require certain staff members to sign off on applicants (i.e. registrar and department head). First, it would be great if we could have even more customize application components specific to certain degrees (and not just undergrad, grad, etc.) [there are already a couple requests for that one]. Second, it would be great if the staff responsible for reviewing applications could be emailed when an application is complete. Third, the icing on the cake would be if there was a section with the application process where it kept record of who signed off (approved) a student so that we could see that others required to review the application have seen it and signed off on it.

Adam Sentz Official comment The items in this request are possible with Populi's updated Applications in combination with Automations. If you need assistance setting anything up please contact Populi Support.

Andy Rice Adam Sentz Is there any possibility that the third request above is something that's in the works? This would be a great benefit to us and I suspect to many others -- an in-Populi process/workflow for internal approval/comments on Admissions applications by assigned reviewers (i.e. an Admissions committee).

Adam Sentz Andy Rice - You can get sort of close with some of the newer forms features that are available on applications now. You could make hidden fields for internal approval by certain people/departments, and have a policy of not accepting applications until those are completed. Then you can filter application fields for pending applications where those application fields haven't been filled. So, a pretty manual process, but better than it used to be.

Robert Frankel Adam Sentz, Is there a way that a section that says we accepted the application, becomes visible to the students once staff accepts an application? Basically, we want to create a countersigned form, so the student now has access to the accepted application.

Adam Sentz Robert Frankel - No, there isn't a way to do that at this time. Maybe you could have a simple form for just that purpose? You could have an Automation send that form to the applicant.

Andy Rice Adam Sentz I've been thinking about this some more and could see great benefit to a major feature within Populi that accomplishes this without the clunkiness of hidden fields and the like.
I would envision an Application Review Tab under the Admissions Tab for each student in which assigned reviewers (potentially assigned by default, but at least based on an assigned role) can sign off on an application with comments and acceptance decisions. This summary would include a table summary with the reviewer name, comments, recommendaitons, and the Committee's official decision. This would be the official record of an acceptance decision and also be printable. Of course, it would only be visible to people with certain roles within Admissions. This same module could tie with automations so that reviewers would be informed when an application is ready for review (I understand this automation is already in place).
I assume that some acceptance review process is in place for every school that uses the Admissions component-- so it would be widely used and allow for a more seamless use of Populi. I know this is far more than a tweak, so thanks for the renewed consideration.
