Including Tardies in the Attendance Percentage

Hi everyone,

I realize this might be a super-specific request, but it would be helpful if tardies could be factored into the attendance percentage. It would be even better if, as Brad Cowie comments here (https://support.populiweb.com/entries/236017-counting-attendance-into-the-final-grade), the resultant percentage could get pushed into the grade book. 

As it is right now, I have created a small table with formulas to help my faculty calculate tardies into the attendance percentage. For us, 3 tardies equal 1 absence. I am attaching the file itself in Apple Numbers (iWork) format for anyone else's benefit. Here is the calculation for anyone who uses Excel. I converted the formula by hand, but hopefully you can figure it out.

=(-(E2+(D2/3))/(A2-B2-C2)+1)

  I also agree that it would be wonderful to have attendance transferred automatically from the attendance section to the gradebook... however, I'll assume that every school tracks attendance differently (for example, for us 2 tardies equals 1 absence), so there might need to be some amount of customization per school. Anyway... it's a brilliant idea... would love to see it considered for a future project :)

  There is now a setting that allows you to specify how many tardies equal an absence in the final attendance calculation.
