In Canada Students are awarded by the government an amount. We then go online after the student registers and confirm their enrollment and request what the students owes to the college to be deposited into our account. If there is any money left over the government puts that into the student bank account. We do not have to write cheques to students. For example a student is awarded $5000. He owes the college $4000. $4000 is deposited by the government into our bank and $1,000 into the student bank account. It would be great if the Financial aid page had the ability to not a disbursement that the government gives directly to the student. It does not have to effect accounting. Currently it looks like we have not dispersed all the aid and there is a over payment.
