I would like to see a robust advanced searching feature for all library users. Something similar to the browse resources tab, but with fill-in boxes in which users can search multiple access points. The current catalog lacks the precision, unlike one searches LC subject headings, and I can't pinpoint books like I could with the older catalog that we used. I think that more precise searches will reduce the frustration of students and library staff!

Edward Estes I agree with this. Enhancing the student's ability to perform precise searches would be an awesome feature!

Adam Sentz Library search now has advanced search options https://support.populiweb.com/entries/23406223-Advanced-Search

David Stauffer Is there any thought being given to adding a search box for each type (author, subject, title) with optional and / or operators to make things a little more user friendly? We're just in the process of switching over, and there is some concern about having to use the advanced operator functions in a command line type format.

Adam Sentz @David - That isn't something that we're planning to add, but if you'd like to request it you may do so here: https://support.populiweb.com/forums/179320-Feature-requests/entries/new

David Stauffer Thanks Adam, and maybe I'm just missing something, but it seems like regular patrons (eg. non library staff) don't have access to the advanced features of the browse tab without entering text commands. Can you confirm this please?

Adam Sentz @David - The Advanced Search features described here only exist in the main library search; the browse tab is a completely separate thing. Granted, there is a some feature overlap. You are correct that the Browse tab is not available to users who are not Library Staff.
