Our faculty and students would like some type of indication that would help them distinguish which discussion post was the most recent post. We have the green comment icon that indicates a new post was made; however, once inside the discussion, users have to sift through to find the latest post. "It is good to receive the alerts that new posts have been made, but then having to search through to find which ones is a pain".

Adam Sentz @Raul - posts are ordered from least to most recent, so the most recent post is always at the bottom. If people want to get a feed of comments and posts as they happen they might like to subscribe to email notifications.

Raul Lozada JMJT @Adam, Thanks for the speedy reply!
Here is the real issue: Whether we are subscribed to email notifications or not, not all new replies appear neatly at the bottom of a discussion. Some people may reply to comments that are already made somewhere in the discussion thread. Yes, the green comment icon, or email notification, initially tells us a new comment/reply was made, but in actuality, once we enter the particular discussion, the new reply is not always at the bottom. Hence, it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, as Leona suggested.
So, rather than titling this request as "Indication of New Posts in Discussions", perhaps "Indication of New Reply in Discussions" works better for this feature request.

Adam Sentz Looks like this is a duplicate of this https://support.populiweb.com/entries/476928-unread-comments-on-discussion-boards-notification so go vote for that one!
