Identifying Courses that are Prerequisites for Other Courses

I was recently asked by a program director at our school if a specific course was a required course for any other courses. This is a question that is sometimes asked when a student changes programs and is planning how to go about completing the new program that has some required courses in the current or previous year levels that they have not as yet taken.

I am hoping that you could provide this information by adding the prerequisite section of the course catalog to the search profile and then reporting the "Prerequisite For" course in the returned list. For example, if I search for THS 101, it would return Courses, Catalog, Files etc as well as Prerequisite For with courses such as THS 201, THS 202, THS 442 listed .

  I agree that it would be handy to have some way to quickly identify prerequisites... I can see it being helpful from the other view as well, though... for example, if a student tries to register for a course that has prerequisites, it would be helpful to have a quick way to know what the prereq. is. Currently the student/advisor is told they don't have the prereq., but not told what it is (unless they go to the course catalogue).
