My discussion assignments always have specific due dates. It seems to me that Populi used to indicate when each student had posted something on the discussion board by indicating the day and time of the post and the bottom of their comment or reply (I wonder if it changed with a recent Populi update). Now I see that Populi simply says that a student posted "about a month ago". These ambiguous time stamps don't really help me to determine whether or not the student posted/replied on time. My preference is to have a day/time stamp at the bottom of each comment/reply on the discussion boards.

Adam Sentz @Andrew - The full timestamp is in the title attribute of the "time ago" string. Just hover your mouse over it for a second and it'll show up.

Adam Sentz @Andrew - It is now possible to set a "discussions close date and time" in a lesson. A student will no longer be able to create or post to discussions attached to that lesson as of that date and time. Thought you might find that useful!

Ginger Howell Adam,
Is there anyway to make the full timestamp the standard instead of hovering over the "time ago" string? I have instructors that would like to see this instantly instead of having to hover over it. It would make them more efficient.

Adam Sentz @Ginger - There isn't a setting to change that, but Populi will automatically badge posts made after the due date on a graded discussion so you can easily identify them.

Ginger Howell @Adam- We have two due dates for a discussion: 1) the initial prompt due date and 2) the due date for replies. I think the problem lies in the fact that we don't have two due dates set for a discussion. We just have the due date for replies set in Populi. Therefore, if students miss the due date for the initial prompt, it isn't flagged. Does that make sense?

Adam Sentz @Ginger - I think I understand. Perhaps you could use Peer Review Essay assignments where you can one due date for the essay and another due date for the reviews.

Ginger Howell I am not familiar with the Peer Review Essay assignment type. Guess I'll be learning something new today! Thank for offering a potential solution.

Manu Mathew Hi Adam, Is there a way to automatically track who posted in the Discussion before the due date and who responded to those posts by a different due date?
-
Adam Sentz Manu Mathew - There's only one due date for the entire graded discussion assignment, so that's the only date used to automatically track which posts were on time. If you have further questions about using Populi please reach out to Populi Support here https://support.populiweb.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Manu Mathew Adam, Can we get a list of students posted by due date?
