Sharing or linking discussions between two or more courses

It would be very handy if we could link discussions from two or more courses within the same semester.

Possible scenarios why: if we offer an on-campus course as a DL course, I place the students in separate course instances in order to distinguish this on their transcript - yet, it would be really cool if the DL students and on-campus students could dialogue together in the same discussion.

Or for example: a class might be a combined class between two degrees (same lectures and discussions, but different assignments). They are given different course codes, but can share same lectures and discussions.

  We just added cross-listing. Documents are forthcoming, but if you edit the course number in a course instance you can have more than one now.

  I run into this too when students take the same course but for a different number of credit hours.

  VBC has designed muliple platforms for presenting currently taught courses for in-class, videoconferenced and online students. Having an option to open up discussions across multiple platforms would be a great asset for both faculty and students.

  We have this issue too.  Sometimes there are 15 students in a class but two of these are in a different program and hence in their own unique course on Pop.  They can't have a very lively discussion between the two of them.
