We would like Permissions for discussion boards. For example, the Announcements Discussion would be View-Only by Students, but Full Permission for Faculty. Another example would be a board that is Invisible to Students, but Full Permission for Faculty, e.g. for behind-the-scenes discussion about individual students, or for planning.

Thomas Whitmire Also, incorporating a Close date would be useful, e..g Students can write to the board until a certain due date/closing date, after which it is Read-only.

Adam Sentz You can now disable the ability for students to post on the course Bulletin Board. Maybe that helps.
